The Saga International Balloon Fiesta |
This competition started as a small balloon meeting in 1978 in Amagi City, Fukuoka Prefecture. From 1980 on the Balloon Fiesta has taken place on the plains of Saga.
Every year the top balloonists from around Japan and the world gather here. Since 1984 there have been approximately 640 balloons from overseas participating (nearly 3000 crew and pilots). The over all winner of the international competition is presented with the Pacific Cup.
Keystone Consulting Inc. has sponsored a medium
category balloon at the Saga Balloon Fiesta for
the past three years and will be taking part in
the 2007 competition in November. Hot air balloons
are not piloted by one person. Teamwork is an indispensable
part of the competition. It comes into play during
pursuit by a car on the ground during the competition,
and as the race develops. Accurate information from
the ground is also very important for the pilot.
Various other ballooning weekends have provided
the Keystone staff members excellent teambuilding
opportunities and helped intergrate the foreign
office staff into the Japanese way of life.
